Our take on VWO.

The most complete experimentation platform outside Optimizely, and easier to actually run. Testing, session recordings, personalization, and feature flags sit in one stack, and the new agentic layer proposes tests instead of waiting for you to think of them.

What works

  • Full loop in one stack: insights, testing, personalization, flags
  • Agentic layer reads your own behavioral data, not generic advice
  • Server-side and mobile testing, not just web

What doesn't

  • Trial rather than a standing free tier; sales-led buying process
  • Overbuilt for sites without a real experimentation cadence

VWO's advantage has always been that the whole optimization loop lives in one product. You watch session recordings and heatmaps in Insights, form a hypothesis, run it in Testing, ship the winner through Personalization or Feature Management, and segment it all against unified customer data. Teams that stitch this together from separate vendors spend a surprising share of their time on the stitching.

The 2026 addition is Wandz, an agentic layer that reads the behavioral data, surfaces friction points, and drafts test ideas and variations from a prompt. It is the most credible version of the pitch that has been made across this category, precisely because VWO already owns the underlying behavioral data — an agent with nothing to read produces generic suggestions.

Honest limits: this is a considered purchase with a sales conversation attached, and the free access is a time-boxed trial rather than a standing tier. It is also more platform than a small site needs. If you run fewer than a handful of tests a quarter, the statistics will not repay the setup. If you run a real experimentation program, the consolidation argument is strong.
