Reforged Labs
Reforged Labs used AI to generate and test video ad creative for mobile game studios, counting Supercell, King, Ubisoft, Playtika and Scopely as customers.

RIP Reforged Labs
Shut down · July 2026
Reforged Labs built AI-generated video ad creative for mobile game studios and won real customers — Supercell, King, Ubisoft, Playtika, Scopely — on $3.9M of seed funding with 17 staff across Vietnam and the US. It wound down in July 2026 after three years. Co-founder and CEO Robert Huynh's reasoning was unusually direct: foundation models had improved enough that studios could build the same creative tooling in-house, and the gap the company sold into was closing. He chose a clean shutdown over a slow decline.
Last known pricing: Enterprise contracts, six figures at the top end (historical)

Overview
What happened to Reforged Labs
Reforged Labs shut down in July 2026 after three years. Services were switched off and billing stopped.
The company applied AI to one of mobile gaming's most expensive problems: producing and iterating video ad creative fast enough to keep user-acquisition campaigns fed. It generated ad variants, analysed which creative was performing, and fed that back into the next batch. The customer list was genuinely strong for a company of its size — Supercell, King, Ubisoft, Playtika and Scopely — and the best accounts signed six-figure contracts.
Key Features
- AI-generated video ad variants for mobile game user acquisition
- Creative performance analysis feeding the next generation of assets
- Playable and video formats tuned per ad network
- Creative strategy services alongside the tooling
- 17 staff across Vietnam and the United States
Why it shut down
Co-founder and CEO Robert Huynh gave a blunt explanation: the gap the company was selling into was closing. Foundation models improved to the point where game studios could build equivalent video-ad tooling in-house, and the value of an outside specialist eroded. Two structural problems compounded it — there were not enough studios spending at the six-figure level to support the growth plan, and attempts to diversify beyond gaming did not land.
Rather than manage a slow decline, Huynh chose to wind the company down cleanly while it could still shut off services and stop billing in an orderly way. Reforged Labs is a clear instance of the 2026 pattern where the capability a startup packaged became a feature of the underlying models.
